Building Bridges: Integrating professional practice and lived experience in paediatric neuropsychological rehabilitation

At Recolo we recognise that the content of our previous conferences has been informed almost wholly by professional expertise. This conference is offering something different and a new perspective by integrating professional knowledge and insight, and the expertise of people with lived experience.

Presentations are at an in-depth level by leading national and international clinicians and practitioners in the field of neuropsychological rehabilitation and lived experience professionals.

We acknowledge that the impact of childhood brain injury and cerebral palsy is complex and enduring, and we want to offer ways of working with young people and the people supporting them that holds in mind some of the issues that we see on the ground, and that the people we work with are telling us is important.

Our objective is to offer co-produced content by experts by experience alongside therapist-led neuropsychological initiatives and new knowledge to foster hope and resilience and delivery of rehabilitation that is meaningful and relevant and that augments the voice of the child with brain injury, and their families.

Following this event, delegates will be able to:

- Hear and see evidence from experts by experience and consider implications for how the role of neurorehabilitation is challenged and expanded beyond a traditional view.

- Have examples of evolving and innovative interventions in practice.

- Have illustrations of co-production to consider as they reflect on their own practice and setting.

- Gain understanding of how the integration of lived experience and professional insight and experience can inform practice and rehabilitation.

- Discover key authors and sources of latest scientific literature on key topics associated with child neuropsychological rehabilitation and paediatric neuro-imaging.
